Excited About EYA Townhomes
Yesterday, I heard a rumor that the Reservoir District Community Center is planning an event to celebrate their grand opening on June 15th. While I have not seen or heard anything official, my plan is to keep District Hammer up to date with any new developments!
On the construction front, Clark Construction is very active building the initial foundation and infrastructure. As soon as they give the green light, EYA is poised to start vertical construction on their first row of townhomes. I have been told that EYA has the building permits in hand and are ready to take the baton and begin construction as soon as possible.
Sales for the EYA townhome development started on January 28th. A line of excited new home buyers and supporters started forming on the morning of January 27th. I have attached a photo of the excited group.
To date, EYA has released 7 rows totaling 40 homes of their 146 new townhomes. As of yesterday, they have contracts for 32 of the 40 released homes. Of the 8 remaining homes (1 Atwood, 4 Bends, and 3 Chatfields), I suspect that EYA will have contracts in hand soon. Especially once the 6 acre park opens in tandem with the Community Center.
For those of you who want to see and tour the actual homes, the first row of homes that EYA is building will have three models (The Atwood, The Bend, The Chatfield). This will undoubtedly take the remaining EYA home sales to the next level with homes on site ready to tour.

Reservoir District Journey
I am super excited about the Reservoir District. I experienced life in Navy Yard as it was being built around me. I enjoyed watching new buildings go up and new businesses start up. The hustle and bustle of development is something I enjoy. My plan with this site is to chronicle the development of the Reservoir District from start to finish. I hope to be able to provide insights of development and a weekly set of new photos. I am not a professional blogger, and this is my first blog. I am also not connected to any developer or company. I am taking this project one day at a time and hope to get some advise along the way.
